deegree day 2008

Bonn, 14th May 2008. The deegree project is about to celebrate its 7th birthday. deegree is an internationally successful Open Source Framework (“construction set“) for building geoportals and Spatial Data Infrastructures. deegree components are used inter alia:
* as Reference Implementation for the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC),
* in diverse national and international SDI projects,
* as internal enterprise solution for efficient exchange of geodata,
* in international research and development projects.

After 7 years of continuous development, the deegree project today comprises the most comprehensive implementation of international standards (OGC/ISO) in Free Software. On 17th June 2008 the third deegree day takes place as a meeting of developers and users in the Universitätsclub Bonn to support and push forward the community-driven development process. deegree day offers a platform for exchange of experiences and for discussion. Developers describe current and future features of deegree. Users present current project results. It is possible to discuss important, pending questions regarding deegree technology and to become informed about the project organisation.

Participation: The event is free of costs – register on-line at http://deegreeday.deegree.org

Two intensive workshops (18th June, each half-day) are offered in the course of the event. The discussed topics can be voted on on-line. Registration will be possible starting end of May via PDF form.
